now i can focus on my engagement day part 2

     2. Engagement Day- A modern twist

Continued from the previous post,

As promised, i wanted to talk about the plannings on my engagement day.

In Malaysian-Malay there are a few sub-tradition practice during engagement day.
There are:

  1. Sort of Poetry introduction [mainly the parents/the uncle's/auntie's of both sides(woman's and the man's) will play along and they will play well in this part]
  2. Exchanging the trays of gift from both sides (the woman's side and the man's side).

  • Sort of Poetry introduction

People don't usually practice this part anymore. They like to go straight to the point. But anyways, im gonna explain it still; this poetry introduction is like warming up before hand in the engagement ring to the bride to be. This part can get really intense when both side (understood) knows poetry and really good at it. Its like a test on knowing the intelligence level of both parties.

Again, this part is only for fun and no, its not poetry competition.

My engagement, i think i wouldnt be doing this, since my family and his family is the 'simple' type.

  • Exchanging the trays of gift from both sides- in malay we call it as "hantaran".

Trays of gifts consist of fruits, cupcakes/cakes, and anything that is give-able (i know its not a word, but chill okay). The interesting thing about exchanging the trays of gifts are, the number of trays must be given in odd numbers and in exchange the trays must be given in odd numbers as well. So far, that's the tradition we practice and i've never seen any people give even numbers of trays. For the woman, the trays that need to be exchanged is more than the man's side. E.g:  The woman's asked for 3 trays from the man and the woman must offer the man 5 trays. If the woman asked for 5 trays, then the woman must give the man 7 trays in exchange.

The minimum trays that usually been given is 3 in exchange for 5, and the maximum trays are...
i dont know..maybe, 13 in exchange for 15?? Who knows right?

The ring is included as a gift as well.

In my situation, im asking 5 in exchange for 7.
I  dont know what im gonna give him yet.
The decorations of the trays must play their part as well to make the gifts look more interesting, organised, and etc. Below are some examples of trays decoration,
  • Decorator 1: idieana rozaidi( Link: http://idieanarozaidi.blogspot.com/ ). She is specialized in decorating hand bouquet and trays decorations. Not necessarily the decorations must be in pastel colours, it can be any colours that you like....as long u have creativity, budget and little craziness in your head, you will definitely make things work :)

  • Decorator 2: Chenta weddings  (FB Link: https://www.facebook.com/chentaweddings ). Chenta Wedding group offers full package for marriage, engagement and etc. But im interested in their trays decos, hand bouquet and many more. Sorry guys, i cant find more trays decos in their FB page.

  • Decorator 3: Weddings by Sher ( Link : http://weddingsbysher.blogspot.com/ ). Sher offers wedding package with reasonable price- according to your preferences. I must say, she is very talented. Pics of trays decos:

  • Decorator  4: Ari wedding Couture  (Link: http://ariweddingcouture.blogspot.com/ ). The same as ' weddings by Sher, 'Chenta weddings', but ari wedding couture has alot more to offer because they design wedding dresses and attires.

now i can focus on my engagement day part 1

okay,
after the exam had finished,
now i can fully concentrate on my engagement day ( dec 2013)
in my previous post,
i mentioned about a few malay's tradition that normally the couple have to face before they finally get married

I repeat it's a tradition
some couples these days skipped few of them.
why?

  1. majorly it's because of cost
  2. it's time consuming
  3. they just want to get straight to the point.
the malay's tradition before they finally get married are:

  1. pre engagement ( in malay we call it as Merisik; { mur - ree - sick } )
  2. the engagement
  3. solemnization
  4. reception for both sides the groom's and the bride's side
In my situation,

  1. Pre- Engagement

I skipped pre engagement ( because, my mom said that pre engagement is for the couple who doesnt really know each other and they never met before).

we as Malays are muslims.
in my opinion,
it is very important for your partner to have the bonding time with your parents.
He/She really need to respect your parents.
To be a responsible partner, u need to give him/ her time to understand your WHOLE family ( including father's side, and mom's side)
a lot of modern couples these days, they fell in love and ignored the parents approval/ opinion towards their partner.
to fall in love and getting married is not just about the two of you, but it means to fall in love, and getting married with his/ her family.

hey, im just saying okay?

to be continued... theres a loooot to brag about engagement and plannings....*_*

so i took a few pics

hello:)

its me,
fafa zulkz

finally, i have finish my exam

the sense of relieved after the exam finished...is heaven.
no words can describe it.
Alhamdulillah i can do it.
^_^

Now, tell me, what i suppose to do after exam??
watch online movies yes?
watch online tv-shows yes?
play a lots of games yes?
snap a lots of pics yes?
hell yes.

one of my friend, she suggested me to work while waiting for the result to come out (about two months or so)...since we are doing twinning program in segi, our paper is going to be marked by UK's (university of greenwich/ UOG) lecturers. There's a lot of advantages doing twinning program. However, im not going to talk about it now. Bcoz, i wanna give my brain a good rest and lets not talk/discuss anything related to studies or college..na'ah.

okay continue back to the story just now, yes my friend she suggested me to do internship in audit/ accounting firm.
0.0

oh well,
my friend she wants to do internship as well, but the problem is she is a foreigner-from maldives.
In Malaysia, most of the companies in Malaysia hire only malaysians.
:-/
too bad for my friend huh?
what a pity.

Plus, ive done internship in 'one company' before...
oh man, they make us work like a buffalo (exaggerating) and expect you to give your complete work as a professional.
i really cant imagine myself working as a real accountant.
i really cant because everything that you have learned in college; non of them is like useful or going to be applied during your working life.
so yeah, what a waste.

Imagined all the depression, the sleepless nights and the feeling of failing a subject/ or few subjects...
is just a drama?

Mother Father.

humm...dunia ni macam2.....

dunia ni semakin pelik.....dan menjadi semakin pelik....
ingat x kisah nabi musa yang dikurniakan tongkat yang boleh membelah lautan (merah kot)...

dari sumber documentary legend quest,
orang2 penyelidik ( researchers- bukan islam 'kot') sedang sibuk mencari tongkat nabi musa kerana mereka mempercayai ada kuasa2 tertentu....dorg sedang giat mencari...the journey started at jordan where they believed, the last track of moses is there.

Sejauh mana kebenaran cerita ni...wallahualam.
dan diorg nak buat apa dgn tongkat ni....
idk...
Allah is the great.
Allah knows what's the best for us.

im getting engage end of this year 2013!!!

most of my friends,
they think 'engage only' duhh...
its not a big deal to them..
but, for me....i almost lose my head...
with upcoming exam..seriously, my exam is just around the corner...
plus, in Malaysia the culture is a bit different...

Malaysia is a multiracial/ multicultural country...
so, every race they have different tradition..
^_^

As for malay's tradition
we have
  1. pre engagement (i skipped this part)
  2. the engagement (soon; in god's will)
  3. solemnization
  4. reception for both sides the groom's and the bride's side.
and talking about the cost of all the above...
is a problem for someone like me..
it is because im A STUDENT
i dont earn any income..
and knowing that im gonna use my parents money for my engagement....the feeling is just so wrong....
we are not talking about a dollar or two but will cost more than a thou!!!! 0.0
my..my....

i have to get my mind straight..
i need to focus on my 'around the corner' exam..
damn.

Alas, im still thinking about earning some money for my engagement party...so i wont feel that guilty to my parents...
so i decided to join and signup for google adsense..
yes ppl, earning easy money from google adsense..
whether its true or not.....
or im just being really stupid for believing...idc.
finger crossed and break a leg Fafa....

i need to grow up...i cant rely everything on my parents....

God..
If possible Grant me a Valley of Money

again..if POSSIBLE.
